Grace and Geoff

What a phenomenal weekend I had with my couple, Grace and Geoff. First off the weather could not have been any better. As always my couples were angels. I was recommended by their friends who I had shot their wedding. They've booked me almost 18 months in advance. During this time we got to know each other really well, found out later that they're friends with some of my good friends. Winnipeg is so small!

Geoff and I, we both love cars, he told me all about the Honda S2000 and how great it is, so I brought one. He helped me find the best deals for tires for Kris's car, so on and so on. Geoff is an awesome guy! Getting back to the wedding, during the ceremony they had an amazing moment, as Grace walked down the ailse Geoff was complete blown away! Grace and Geoff have been together for 11 years, Grace is 25 year old, you do the math... They are a match made in heaven. Geoff being an awesome guy that he is got Grace flowers in the morning at the Hair Salon made her cry and everybody teary. After 11 years they still have that spark.

Grace as always looks so beautiful, she is so nice, always thinking of other before herself. She only meet Kris a few times and always ask me "how Kris?" Grace is amazing! Look at her photos... she just naturally glows!

Their wedding party huge! 28 people not including the 3 flower girls and 3 ring bearer! I was really worry about photos that whole week, thinking where am I going to take them? G and G refuse to go to the Ledge because they wanted something more unique. In my head the Ledge is the only place that would fit 28 people! I took a chance and manage to hook up with "somebody" that would let me use a roof of a building. Magically the door was open on that Saturday and I pull another one out of my @#* "pocket"!

G and G wanted their photos to be unique, a touch of fashion, a touch of art into their photos. Some of these images are some of my best work so far this year. We had no time, no location booked and we manage to pull off these stunning images.

I going leave you with their slideshow, it will tell you a better story than my poor writing/spelling skills. Have a great time in Hawaii guys, bring me back a pineapple! Thanks for everything.

Jenay & jason

Sorry for the late update on last weekend wedding. Had 8 photo shoots in 5 Days... It's just getting crazier by the day here at the studio.

Anyway, my couple last week was Jenay and Jason. I love this couple! I meet them three years ago at their friends wedding. At first Jenay want me to shoot her wedding but unfortunately I was already booked, Jenay couldn't take no for an aswer and changed her date. I'm still very flatter that she did that. Their whole group of friends are so nice, shooting their wedding was so easy... when I walked into the reception I ran into four of my pass couples, most of them are expecting! But seeing all my couples in the same room was so nice.

Jenay was one of the most relax bride I ever had. It's kinda different... in a good way. She had full confident in me and said what ever you want to do we'll do. I normally assign homework to all my clients to collect photos from magazines, website, ect... so i can review them before the wedding so I can have an idea what they want. Jenay didn't do anything! She said everything I like is in your studio! Great... I get really worry when brides say that! I went to a location the day before and kinda want to do something different... had no idea if it's gonna work or not, I figure if it didn't Jenay would forgive me... not too sure about Jason but I'm sure Jenay will protect me. Anyway, I shot right against the sun, wanted to find a way to control the glare in a way that make the image look completely candid and wanted the sky to have a deep blue. Crazy enough... I got exactly what I wanted. Hate doing that but you never know unless you try :)

Jason is such a nice guy. First time meeting Jason, he came off a very tough guy, spending an hour with him you realize Jason is such a softy, especially for Jenay! He is crazy in love her, you can just tell by the way he looks and talk about her. Great Guy! Looking tough you need proof! Right? we did the classic "Reservoir Dog" walk. Looks tough to me!

Jenay and Jason, hope you guys are having good time in Jasper. Thank you so much for having confident in me and changing your date to accommodate me. Really means alot to me. See you soon. Till next time, same Bat channel... Nghia.

NO NO NO NO!!!!

Okay, I just saw the worst movie EVER! "Shoot 'Em Up"! Don't waste your time or money. Kris was ready to walk out 1/3 through the movie but I wanted to see/hope that the movie would get better... it got worse and worse and worse! I don't know how a movie can be so bad... I really have no words to describe how bad it really was. The main character ate alot of carrots, running around with a baby and shooting bad guys all at the same time. I think he ate like 12 carrots, I don't know where he put it? I'm not talking about baby carrots you put on your salad, these carrots are "12 inchers". I'm sitting here trying to understand the carrots thing. I don't think it's anything of an importance to the movie, it's just stupid!. Oh ya he killed some bad guys by stabbing them in the eyes with it, oh... and he used the line "what's up doc"... original! He delivered a baby and severed the umbilical cord with a gunshot. That's all I'm going to say. Anyway, Clive Owen... What the hell were you thinking?

High School Sweethearts

My Couple this weekend Lindsay and Chris are so sweet, both high school sweethearts! Reminds me of my high school sweetheart who is now also my wife (Kris). We had such a fun time shooting photos that when it was over I felt a little sad.

Lindsay is such a nice bride to work with, she did an amazing job organizing the whole wedding. She knew exactly what she wants, she's very determine and energize to get the job done. My kind of bride... Her dress is so beautiful, she told me in one of our consultation "I'm in love with my dress" and now i can see why.

The dress is gorgeous but having it on her is another story! Holy cow!!! When she walked down the ailse Chris could not hold the tears, he was completely blown away! To be honest when I took that photo of Chris I myself got a bit teary (that's right I'm a softy).

Chris, he's awesome! A really good sport... I don't know what was wrong with me on that day but I kept on calling him Jeff. I made a bet with him that if I called him Jeff once more I will give him a 16x20 wall portrait free retail around $300, guess what? not even 30 secs later I lost the bet. I'm such an loser... I had so many Jeffs this year, my printer's name is Jeff, 4 of my grooms is Jeff, one of my best friend is Jeff and they look very similar. But really there's no excuse... I'm just dumb!

The wedding party was a blast, they had so much energy and did pretty much anything I asked them to. Great bunch of people!

The girls... wow... they were beautiful and the dresses were too. I had major name problem with the girls. I introduce myself in the morning and as they said their name I just... didn't pay any attention, in my head all I heard was "Hi, you're beautiful. Hi, you're gorgeous, Hey, you're good looking too", oh man, totally A.D.D. I really don't know how I score with such a good looking wife, I have really dumb moments. I think I called one girl four or five different names in a course of four hours and she didn't even beat me up! I think her name was Myrranda? If this is right e-mail me!

Anyway, getting back to the couple. They are so cute! They talked about having the photos done at their high school... I was too crazy about that but didn't know that they were high school sweetheart, then it made all the sence in the world. That's where their world started, we had some really cute photos. We used the whole school, the classroom, the gym, the boiler room ect... Thank you Lindsay and "Chris" for such an amazing time, I had so much fun. Didn't even feel like work. Hope you're having a great time in Greece!

Last Double Header of the Year :)

First off I just want to say congratulation to Carmen from Investor Group for winning the birthday contest, many entries and many wrong answers, "$31.00" gift card? Come on who gives $31.00 dollars? tip for future contest. Thank you for those who thought I was 25-28-29 and no thanks to my former friend who wrote in 54. You know who you are!

Anyway, another two wedding weekend, last one of the year. Again, great couples, actually amazing couples!

My Saturday couple Mabelyn & Patrick.

Mabelyn is so kind hearted and so humble. She was so laid back even when the Videographer ask her to do things that she absoultely hated, we glance at each other and just laugh it off. She is so beautiful and her personality is even more beautiful.

Patrick on the other hand was a tough person to read at first, I got to know Patrick better as the year gone by and I really like him, what I like the most about Patrick is his honesty. He not shy to tell you if he doesn't like something. On the wedding day I had so much fun with him, to see him with his friends and how he interact with his family you realize that Patrick is the kind a of guy you want as a friend.

We had a really hot day and many laughs, we were at the Ledge and I wanted a shot of the couple kissing on the fountain's ledge. Mabelyn being so tiny couldn't reach for the kiss... the Bestman (Duy) stepped up to the plate and we got the shot! They were very close... I'm not sure if Mabelyn should be worry about it (Just kidding). The reception was at Kum Koon Garden, oh my god! we had a 12 course meal, took about two hour to eat, awesome food! that right it's not a typo 12 course. I sat with some friends of couple and I haven't laugh so hard in such a long time, in the morning my stomach hurts. I'm not sure if it was from laughing or eating to much. Regardless thanks for the good times!

My Sunday couple Jaime & Graham.

This couple is an absolute pleasure to work with, they have a baby girl named Emma. Emma is so cute... so smart at 20 months she knows how to count up to ten. Emma is Jaime and Graham's world, they love her so much, you can see it when they look at her. They are amazing parents, Jaime is a nurse, Graham is a firefighter and they own a very busy business. They are so busy with everyday life and manage to balance life with each other and gives Emma everything she needs. I look up to them because they remind me of what Kris and I should be when we have a baby.

Jaime is the most wonderful person I have ever meet. She is so kind and have the biggest heart. Alot of things went wrong with the wedding and Jaime was so classy to keep her cool and made everyone around her so comfortable. She made a huge difference in how the day played out.

Graham, the sexiest Groom I have to date! Graham was in the Winnipeg's Firefighter Calender, I manage to track it down. I was going to post it but I didn't want Graham to hurt me. When I first meet Graham I was very scare of him, Graham is a huge guy! I'm sure he can crush me with one hand. But once I got to know Graham he was like the gentle giant on the vegetable package. He is such a sentimental guy, made everyone cry at the reception when he made his speech. He made Kris cry, he wrote Jaime a card on the wedding day and it was so sweet. Graham is an amazing dad, I hope one day I can be a good dad like him.

We had an amazing day, it wasn't too hot or too cold, just right. We went to one of the fire hall Graham used to work at and took some stunning images. One of my favs was reflection off the hub cap. We also went to St-B, just beautiful! They give me such an easy job to do. Everything was just right, Jaime is so beautiful that it was hard to take a bad picture of her and Graham of course with all the photo shoots experiences, he was a natural. I said before and I'll say it again... I'm the luckiest guy on earth to do what I do.

It's 3:15 am and it's time to go to bed. I have a early wedding consultation tomorrow. Till next time, same Bat channel. Nghia.
